The shop is stocked with high-quality handmade products at prices that are reasonable to the maker and to you, our customers. We pride ourselves on quality and diversity and have a high stock turnover so there’s always something new to see.

The shop is open Friday and Saturday 10am-3pm and Sunday 11am-3pm. Find us on the main street of Featherston, Wairarapa opposite the Post Office.

As we come out of winter I’ll be bringing in my summer stock- organic cotton singlets, dresses, pants and sunhats.

I have large room at the front of our farmhouse to sew in and sometimes I work at the kitchen table.

I have always had a need to make things, clothes, structures, gardens, cards, and I started sewing clothes for my children when they were little because I found it hard to buy simple, well made clothes at a reasonable price.

I’m one of the creators of Craft Country and its really nice to have an outlet in the town I live in.

I live on a small farm just out of town with my husband and two small boys. We are the caretakers; we look after the land and buildings including our marae. I’m passionate about organics, environmental issues, bio-intensive farming and growing your own food and resources.

I hand and machine knit my work and try to use recycled yarns that I find in op shops and online.

I have a good stash of wool and fabric to use when I get inspired to make something new.

I have a good workspace and its generally kept in an organised chaotic manner which suits my work ethic. I usually know where something is if I need it.

I have good collection of old craft magazines from as early as the 1920′s through to the present day and like to look through these to get ideas.

I love making things and always have something on the go and always take my knitting most places. At the moment I am knitting a lovely long cardigan for my Mum.

I’ve joined the Craft Country shop because I thought it was great idea and it’s good to support local artists. It makes people aware of how many people are actually out there making stuff.

I have a shop at my home and am online. I also will be selling at Craft2.0 at the Dowse Art Gallery in Lower Hutt at Easter. I have work in Aratoi Museum of History and Art in Masterton and Thrive in Martinborough and also have a stall at the Martinborough Fair in the summer.

When I’m not making, I have a part-time job at King Street Artworks in Masterton. I love my garden and it is always a good place to have a break from making. During the winter months I like to go snowboarding on Mt Ruapehu. I am bit of a home body and always have something on the go and then there’s always the lawns to be mowed.
